Rain washed out play on Friday in the ATP event in Montreal as remnants of tropical storm Debby rolled through.
Thirteen matches were postponed, including three second-round singles matches that were delayed on Thursday night. The ATP Tour event is set to run through Monday.
On Thursday afternoon, top-ranked Jannik Sinner opened his title defence with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Borna Coric in the second round.
Sinner missed the Olympics because of tonsillitis after a quarter-final loss to Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon.
In January, Sinner beat Medvedev in the Australian Open final for his first grand slam title.
