Track cycling star Richardson, 25, shocked the country’s governing body AusCycling by announcing he was returning to the country he left as a nine-year-old less than two weeks after winning two silver medals in the men’s sprint and keirin and a bronze in the men’s team sprints at the Paris Olympics.
