Life What We Are Buying Today: Saudi Arabia’s ‘Jawlah’ educating and empowering children

DUBAI: US luxury fashion label Coach unveiled its first ever Ramadan campaign this week starring Saudi DJ and producer Nouf Sufyani, also known by her stage name Cosmicat.

Hailing from Jeddah, Cosmicat, known for her proficiency in electronic music genres such as deep house and techno, took center stage alongside professional football player Farah Jefry and fashion upcycler Salima Alaoui.

In an interview with Arab News, the producer said: “Being part of the campaign was such a wonderful experience, from meeting Salima and Farah, who are incredibly talented, to experimenting with different styles and materials from one of my favorite brands.

“We instantly bonded during our time together; it was inspiring to share our thoughts and stories,” Cosmicat added. “Chatting during hair and makeup was a nice bonding experience for us.”

The campaign reflects the holiday’s focus on fostering community, both with friends and family.

The campaign puts the spotlight on the brand’s Tabby bag in its latest version, alongside the Willow shoulder bag. The collection also introduces the label’s newest footwear styles.

The bags are offered in a range of colors, including cream white, pastel yellow, jet black, denim blue, beige and khaki.

Commenting on the emergence of international brands releasing Ramadan campaigns with Arab representation, the record producer said: “Our Arab culture is rich and generous, with a profound historical legacy. It’s significant to witness girls who resemble me being represented in media and fashion.”

Another brand that recently unveiled a Ramadan collection featuring an Arab model is CH Carolina Herrera. The campaign features Australian-Lebanese model Jessica Kahawaty and showcases a curated selection of modest wear for the holy month from the New York-based label.
